Number 1: Ridgeback Scoot US Model
What sold us on this version was that our son has always been big for his size and when we started to show him how to ride on a bike (at 4), he towered over the other balance bikes. This bike is made for children 3-6 and is sturdy and a little higher off the ground so his knees weren’t scrunched up.
Number 2: WOOM 1 Balance Bike
Good for younger, early bike riders. It is fit for children between 1 and 3 years of age. It is lightweight, durable, and lower so that they can put their feet down quickly.
Comes in lots of colors – Check it out on Amazon
Number 3: Cruzee Ultralite Balance Bike
This balance bike is great for older kids. According to their website it can fit children from 1.5 years to 5 years. Also, it’s the lightest at only 4.4 lbs. This bike also comes in several different colors.
Number 4: Early Rider Evolution Bike
This balance bike is simple, and classic, made from birch. There are 14″ tires in the front and 12″ in the back. It fits kids from 2-3 years old, at least 35 pounds in weight.
Number 5: Islabikes Rothan
This bike is great for cautious riders and comes with a break system. It can fit kids 2 years to 4 years. It is close to the ground as well.
Here is a video that we watched that got us in the mindset of how riding a balance bike would eventually lead to riding a pedal bike.
